ROME, Ga. – Flagler College's Baptiste Mercier advanced to the semifinal round of the ITA Cup this afternoon at the Rome Tennis Center.

After winning his Round of 16 match yesterday, Mercier defeated Martins Abamu of Lubbock Christian University, who was a No. 4 seed, 6-0 and 6-3. Mercier will take on Takeshi Taco of Valdosta State University tomorrow at 9 a.m. The winner advances to the championship match on Sunday at 9 a.m.

Jacopo Denitto won his Round of 16 match yesterday, but lost his quarterfinal match today to Tom Zeuch of the University of Indianapolis (6-4, 6-2). Denitto moves to the back draw where he will take on Jorge Perez of the University of Charleston (W.Va.) at 11 a.m.
