GREENWOOD, S.C. – Flagler College's
Max Gottwald scored a goal in the 79
th minute, but Lander University got the equalizer 38 seconds later and that was the final after 90 minutes of play in a Peach Belt Conference men's soccer match Wednesday afternoon at Van Taylor Stadium.
Flagler is now 3-5-4 overall and 2-3-2 in the Peach Belt. Lander moves to 4-4-4 overall and 3-1-2 in league play.
Jackson Kirlia's free kick set up the goal for the Saints. He lobbed the ball into the box where
Toby McCallum headed the ball down to Gottwald who tapped the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal.
Following the kickoff, Lander took the ball down the right sideline where it was knocked out of play. Christian Hatley's throw in found Julien Sagnol. Sagnol spun around a Saints player and sent a cross pass into the middle of the box where an on-charging Zach Meyer headed the pass into the goal.

Ryan Rivas made a diving save on a header by Rob Dymond.
Rivas finished with a season-high nine saves. Juan Rodriguez recorded two saves for the Bearcats.
Lander outshot Flagler 19-7 and held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Flagler plays its last non-conference match Saturday against Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida at 7 p.m.
