AUGUSTA, Ga. –
Sharale McCormick scored 18 of her game-high 20 points in the second half in Flagler College's 68-52 loss to Augusta University in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Saturday afternoon at the Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Augusta improved to 12-6 overall and 5-3 in the Peach Belt. Flagler is now 4-14 overall and 1-7 in conference play.
The Jaguars scored the first 14 points in the game and didn't look back. Augusta took a 32-13 lead into the halftime break.
Taylor Gardner,
Jessica Dowdy and
Amuk Tong each scored eight points for Flagler. Dowdy grabbed a team-high five rebounds.
Buse Utku dished out three assists.
Mone Florence led Augusta with 13 points and six rebounds. Autumn Phillips and Tomiyah Alford scored 11 points apiece. Kiera Howard added eight points, 10 assists and four steals.
Flagler hosts Clayton State University on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
