N'Mya Pierce of the women's basketball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Jan. 15.

Pierce averaged a double-double in Flagler's two games last week with 11.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game. The West Palm Beach, Florida native made 47.6 percent of her shots and added three steals. At No. 10 Georgia Southwestern, Pierce scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and followed that up with a 12-point, 15-rebound effort to help the Saints win their first conference game, 61-57 in overtime over Young Harris.

For the season, Pierce is averaging 7.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.  She has recorded six double-doubles this year, including the two last week. Her 45.6 shooting percentage leads the team.
