Audrey Simmons had a team-high 13 kills while
Jordan Berglin added 11 more as Flagler College defeated Augusta University 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 18-25, 25-21) in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at Flagler Gym.
Flagler evened its overall record at 6-6 and improved to 1-3 in the Peach Belt. Augusta dropped to 9-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Berglin completed her fifth double-double of the season, and her third in the last four matches, with 12 digs.
Annie Bart finished one kill shy of a double-double with nine and she added 11 digs.
Kennedy Muff supplied 39 assists, eight kills and three total blocks.
Logan Garcia tacked on six kills and four total blocks.
Arianna Lopez recorded five total blocks.
Edie Lamoreaux finished with 15 digs.
Jazmyn Wheeler led Augusta with 13 kills while Madelyn Eden tacked on 11 more. Dariana Luna collected 20 digs while Samantha Zittrauer registered 21 assists.
The Saints won the first two sets thanks to an efficient .400 hitting percentage in the first set and holding the Jaguars to a .044 percentage in the second set. Flagler limited Augusta to a -.031 mark in the fourth set.
In the fourth set, the Saints wiped out an 11-7 deficit and ran off nine consecutive points and never trailed again. The Flagler run, in total, was 13-1 after a hitting error by Augusta. The Jaguars had seven hitting errors in that spurt.
Flagler hosts Young Harris College on Thursday and Friday at Flagler Gym. Thursday's match is at 6 p.m. while Friday's contest begins at 2 p.m.
