AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Flagler College men's soccer team saw two players earn Peach Belt Conference (PBC) weekly honors announced by the league office Monday. Jed Bowman was tabbed Defender of the Week while Tirso Trueba earned Goalkeeper of the Week.
 
Bowman, a junior from Billericay, England, helped Trueba to a 10-save week and took two shots on goal for the Saints in 180 minutes played. Bowman helped the Saints to their first shutout of the season against Georgia Southwestern State University (Sept. 7) and held Young Harris College (Sept. 10) to eight shots.
 
Trueba, a native of Puebla, Mexico, made a career-high eight saves against Georgia Southwestern in the Saints' 3-0 win, earning his first shutout. The sophomore also tallied two saves in the 1-1 draw at Young Harris, totaling 10 saves on the week. Trueba's strong performance earned him Academy Bus Player of the Week as well. The keeper ranks third in the PBC in goals against average (1.250), save percentage (.737), shutouts per game (.250) and saves per game (3.50).
 
The Saints return home to host Florida Southern College for a night game at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13 on Saints Field.
