TEMPE, Ariz. – The Flagler College women's tennis team moved up two spots to No. 11 in this week's edition of the Division II Women's ITA Collegiate Tennis National Team Rankings, sponsored by Tennis-Point, the organization announced earlier today.

In the latest release of the NCAA Southeast Regional Rankings, the women's team will spend a second consecutive week at No. 2, with a massive Peach Belt Conference showdown verus No. 7 the University of North Georgia on tab tomorrow (Friday) at 11 a.m. The Nighthawks are fourth in the southeast region.

Flagler posted a 2-0 record in the period that was considered through Sunday, April 17, defeating then-No. 64 Valdosta State Univeristy, 6-1, and now-No. 54 Georgia College, 5-2.  Luisa Hrda maintains her ranking of the No. 5 singles player in DII, while her and Eden Schlagenhauf were tabbed as the eighth-ranked duo in the nation.

Hrda won both of her singles matches last week at first singles. Against the Bobcats, she handed Sofia Shing a 6-4, 6-2 loss. She followed that performance up by winning her second match against a nationally-ranked opponent, defeating Valdosta State's Magda Tuells Bonet, who has ranked No. 60 at the time of the match, 6-3, 7-5.

In doubles, the German duo went 1-1 during the week. The duo picked up the doubles win that secured the team the opening point against the Blazers, winning 6-4. On the year, they are the owners of a 12-3 doubles record this spring.
