MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College scored five runs in the last two innings, including three in the ninth, to rally past Flagler College 6-5 in a Peach Belt Conference baseball game Friday night at John Kurtz Field.
Georgia College improved to 18-12 overall and 7-6 in the Peach Belt. Flagler is now 16-16 overall and 9-4 in conference play.
Myles Colangelo hit a two-run double and came around to score on a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to give the Saints a 5-1 lead.
Sam Sly cut into the deficit with a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth to pull the Bobcats to within two runs, 5-3.
In the bottom of the ninth, Cam Hill led off with a single and KC Brown followed with a two-run home run to tie the game. Two batters later, Ben Tuten reached first after being hit by a pitch. Brandon Bellflower drew a walk and Mason Spivey's single to right scored Tuten from second base to end the game.
Bryce Bowen (1-1) picked up the win in relief for Georgia College. He allowed a hit and struck out a batter in the ninth inning.
Bellflower went 3-for-4 with a double and scored two runs. Sly collected three singles and finished with three runs batted in.
Dylan Faulkner (1-4) took the loss for Flagler. He allowed five runs on six hits in 2 1/3 innings of work. He struck out five batters.
Gage Voorhees started and surrendered one run on nine hits in six innings. He fanned four.
Colangelo went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI and he scored a run.
Trey Newland hit a single, a double and he scored two runs.
Matthew Burke went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and one more driven in.
John Fiorenza finished with two singles and he scored a run.
The same two teams meet tomorrow to conclude the series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
