TEMPE, Ariz. – The Flagler College women's tennis team only surrendered two points last week as the Saints soared up to No. 15 in this week's Division II Women's ITA Collegiate tennis rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point, the organization announced on Thursday.

On the individual side, Luisa Hrda has continued to show why she is one of the best in the nation, posting an 18-5 singles record thus far, moving up No. 3 in singles, which is the highest she has gotten in her collegiate career. Joining her in the singles rankings for the first time in her career is Alessandra Traub, who makes her debut at No. 68 with a 10-5 record. On the doubles side, the duo of Hrda and Eden Schlagenhauf remain ranked, moving to No. 23.

The Saints turned in two dominant performances to earn their ranking this week, opening the week with a 6-1 win over 40th-ranked Augusta University, who moved up one spot to 39 in this week ranking, to open Peach Belt Conference play. In that match, Hrda defeated Claudia Bordon Roca, who is now ranked No. 31, 6-2, 7-6 (2). Traub won in three sets, 7-5, 1-6, 7-2.

Flagler followed it up with another win on Monday against University of Montevallo in which Hrda cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 victory. Traub also won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.

Hrda is currently riding a four-match win streak, while Traub has won five straight. The doubles team of Hrda and Schlagenhauf won both their matches last week, handing Augusta a bagel and only dropping a lone game to Montevallo. The duo is on a six-match win streak and has a record of 7-2 together this year.

The newly-ranked Saints look to continue their march up the rankings as they prepare for eighth-ranked Columbus State University Friday, April 1 with an match tomorrow Friday, March 25 versus Eastern Florida State at 2 p.m.
