DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – Flagler College fell to No. 23 Embry-Riddle in its first road game of the season, 20-10, at ERAU Lacrosse Stadium Wednesday night.
The Saints fall to an even 3-3 on the year. The Eagles stay undefeated, improving to 4-0.
The Saints were the first to get on the board when
Jordan Shughrue found the back of the net for the 15
th time this season. Embry-Riddle responded by scoring the next five goals in the period, ending the first quarter with a 5-1 advantage.
Jordan Green cut the lead to 5-2 to open the second quarter, but the Eagles rattled off three goals in a row in response.
Zoe Howe and Shughrue posted two quick goals to cut the lead to 8-4, and that was answered with four more goals by the Eagles, with three of those opening the third quarter, to give them a 12-4 lead, a lead that the Saints could not overcome.
Shughrue finished with five goals, giving her 18 on the year, which brings her into a tie for seventh in the country in goals on the season.
Katelyn Trainor and Green each posted two.
Eight different players scored for the Eagles, with Zariah Durham leading the way with five.
Flagler returns home for another matchup with a ranked opponent when they face No. 8 Rollins College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
