ST AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Five players found the back of the net as Flagler College fell to No. 8 Rollins College, 18-6, at Flagler Lacrosse Field Saturday afternoon.
Flagler drops to 3-4 on the year. The Tars stay perfect, moving to 4-0.
Rollins opened a lead early in the first quarter, scoring the first four goals of the game. With 5:51 remaining,
Madison Daziel put the Saints on the board, which was followed up by
Kate Piscopo finding the back of the net 30 seconds later, making the score 5-2.
The Saints struck first in the second quarter, thanks to a goal from
Sophia DeSimone following a Tars green card in the previous quarter, cutting the lead to two. The Tars responded with the last three goals of the half, sending them into halftime with a 9-4 advantage.
Rollins pulled away in the third quarter, following a
Katelyn Trainor goal, they scored eight straight goals, sealing the victory.
Flagler got a pair of goals from Daziel and one goal from Trainor, DeSimone, Piscopo and
Carly LaFerriere.
All-American Liz Fahey and Caroline Gastonguay each registered five goals for the Tars and Claire Reist added four.
The Saints stay at home this coming Wednesday, Mar. 9, when North Greenville University comes to town for a 7 p.m. game.
