STILLWATER, Okla. — The ninth-ranked Flagler College women's tennis team wrapped up its second straight ITA Indoor Nationals appearance Monday morning in a top-10 matchup.
The anticipated dual — between the Saints and fourth-ranked Nova Southeastern University — was played in a Power 5 facility as Oklahoma State University hosted the match that resulted in a 4-0 victory for the Sharks at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
NSU (8-1) edged the Saints (2-3) in doubles and carried the momentum into singles.
Luisa Hrda and
Eden Schlagenhauf won their second consecutive doubles match. Leaving it up to
Florencia Massardo Brain and
Alice Benvegnu to clinch the point, but the third doubles pair was unable to muster together the final points in a 7-5 loss. From there, the Sharks were able to take wins on court five, six and two to complete the sweep.
Flagler will have the opportunity to redeem itself in two weeks when NSU travels to St. Augustine for a matchup on Saturday, March 12 at 10 a.m.
