AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College senior guard
Tori Pearce was selected as the Peach Belt Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 27, announced Monday afternoon by conference officials.
This is her first weekly award from the conference office and the program's first since Feb. 25, 2019 when Tabitha Odabe was selected.
Pearce turned in perhaps the single greatest game by any PBC player this season with her 41-point, 10-rebound, 10-assist effort in a win over Georgia College. The triple-double was her second of the season and the 13th in PBC history. Her 41 points (on 16-for-22 shooting) is tied for ninth-most in PBC history and is the second-most in a PBC game this season. For the week, the Bay Shore, New York native averaged 25.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game. Against No. 8 (WBCA Division II Top 25) Lander University, she nearly had another triple-double with 10 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. Pearce is currently second in the PBC in scoring, fifth in rebounding, sixth in field goal percentage and leads the conference in assists.
Flagler heads back to face Lander in a PBC Tournament quarterfinal on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
