Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Late run leads No. 21 Flagler over Georgia College

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Jaizec Lottie scored a game-high 24 points and added eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals as No. 21 (NABC Division II Top 25) Flagler College defeated Georgia College 82-66 in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Wednesday night at the Centennial Center.

Flagler extended its winning streak to seven games and improved to 17-3 overall and 10-1 in the Peach Belt. The Saints now owns a two-game lead in the league standings as Georgia College (16-4, 8-3) slipped a game back with the loss, which also snapped its four-game winning streak.

"I thought a lot of guys really stepped up tonight to give us a chance," said head coach Chad Warner. "That was a really good win against a very tough and well-coached team."

Flagler held a 57-55 lead with 5:43 left to go, but Kohl Roberts' layup 21 seconds later started a 16-2 avalanche over the next 2:56. Roberts was fouled on the play and completed the old fashioned three-point play. He scored 12 of Flagler's 16 points in that run. Roberts, who transferred to Flagler from Georgia College this past summer, finished with 16 points and seven rebounds.

Jalen Barr scored the last four points in the game, and he ended with 16 points and eight rebounds for the Saints.

Flagler shot 52.6 percent from the field, its best since shooting at a 52.7 percent clip against Young Harris College (Dec. 20). The 10 three-pointers made by the Saints were the most made in a game by the team since sinking the same amount vs. the University of North Georgia (Dec. 17).

Jordan Thomas led Georgia College with 21 points. Wesley Simpson and Chapin Rierson added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Flagler returns home to face Columbus State University on Saturday (Feb. 5) at 3:30 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
