AUGUSTA, Ga. –
Jaizec Lottie scored 22 of his game high 30 points in the second half in No. 21 (NABC Division II Top 25) Flagler College's 78-65 loss at No. 12 Augusta University in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Augusta extended its winning streak to nine games and improved to 23-3 overall and 13-3 in the Peach Belt. Flagler is now 20-5 overall and 13-3 in conference play. Both are tied atop the league standings with one week left in the regular season.
"Augusta is really good and especially at home," said head coach
Chad Warner. "I thought our guys competed well today. We just didn't make enough plays to win on the road."
The Jaguars used an 8-2 burst early in the second half to take a double-digit lead. Tyshaun Crawford was responsible for six of those points.
Lottie sank all 14 of his free throws in the game. The last time a Flagler player made that many without a miss was Jan. 23, 2019 when Damerit Brown sank all 15 attempts at Georgia Southwestern State University.
Kohl Roberts recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Spencer Bain tacked on 11 points for the Saints.
Crawford scored 26 points and grabbed a game high 13 rebounds to lead Augusta. Troy Cracknell added 16 points while Tyree Myers tacked on 11 points. Myers made all eight free throw attempts.
Augusta out-rebounded Flagler 50-33 and the Jaguars made 25 free throws. Flagler attempted 24 from the charity stripe.
Flagler plays its final regular season home game on Wednesday against Georgia College at 7:30 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
