ST AUGUSTINE — The Flagler College women's lacrosse team continued its early dominance as the Saints handily defeated the Gyrenes of Ave Maria University, 21-6.
The Saints improved to 2-0 overall on the season, while this was the first game for Ave Maria.
Flagler scored the first 15 goals, while holding the Gyrenes scoreless for the entirety of the first half.
Jordan Green got the offense going with her sixth goal of the year, which was followed up by
Kaitlyn Bush's first goal of the season.
The Saints posted nine goals in the first period and followed that up with six more in the second period.
The Gyrenes got on the board early in the third quarter courtesy of Emma Davis, who found the back of the net five times.

Sophia DeSimone and Bush lead the way with three apiece. Green,
Zoe Howe,
Kenzie Dillon,
Kate Piscopo and
Madison Daziel each recorded two goals.
Jordan Shughrue,
Katie Stubits,
Sydney Onega,
Ally Miller and
Alayna Stewart each scored once.
The Saints outshot the Gyrenes 32-19, with 27 of those shots being on target. Flagler scooped up 32 ground balls compared to the 19 for Ave Maria. The Saints converted on all but one clear attempt, going 19-20.
Lauren Ribadeneira earned the win after playing 30 minutes and recorded five saves, while keeping the Gyrenes off the board.
Flagler welcomes Florida Tech to Flagler Lacrosse Field for its first in-region test on Thursday, Feb. 17 for a 7 p.m. contest.
