Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

No. 17 Flagler comes up short at USC Aiken

AIKEN, S.C. – Jaizec Lottie scored 25 points and added six rebounds as No. 17 (NABC Division II Top 25) Flagler College lost to the University of South Carolina Aiken 78-61 in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center.

USC Aiken has won three-of-its-last-four games and improved to 16-8 overall and 10-4 in the Peach Belt. Flagler had its nine-game winning streak snapped and now holds a 19-4 overall record and a 12-2 league mark. The last team to defeat Flagler was USC Aiken, back on Jan. 8 (67-65).

"I thought USC Aiken really outplayed us tonight," said head coach Chad Warner. "We never could get into a rhythm and had a difficult time getting them out of theirs. They were much better than we were. We are going to get back home and work hard for a big stretch run."

The Pacers used a 15-5 burst to break a 2-all tie and they never looked back. USC Aiken took a 33-24 lead into the half.

Jalen Barr recorded his team-leading fifth double-double as he finished with 10 points and a game high 11 rebounds.

Preston Parks led the Pacers with 25 points while Jalen McCoy added 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Tehree Horn tallied 17 points, and he got most of that from the free throw line as he made all 11 attempts.

Flagler will host Clayton State University on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
