N'Mya Pierce recorded her third consecutive double-double with a team-high 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds in Flagler College's 72-46 loss to No. 14 (WBCA Division II Top 25) University of North Georgia in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball opener Saturday afternoon at the UNG Convocation Center.
North Georgia improved to 7-1 overall while Flagler moved to 2-7.
The Saints trailed 18-14 after one quarter, but only made one basket in the second quarter and went into the locker room down 16 (33-17).
Sharale McCormick added 12 points and five rebounds for Flagler.
Taylor Gardner tacked on 10 points.
Caroline Martin led the Nighthawks with a game-high 17 points and added six rebounds. Kayla Massop came off the bench to provide 11 points and nine rebounds. Niyah Lutz tallied six assists.
UNG corralled 46 rebounds, 15 of those were off the offensive glass that led to 18 second chance points.
Flagler heads a little further north to face Young Harris College on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
