DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –
N'Mya Pierce recorded her first double-double of the season with 14 points and 14 rebounds, both game-highs, in Flagler College's 74-57 loss to the University of Sioux Falls at the Bahama House Shootout Saturday afternoon at the ICI Center.
Sioux Falls improved to 3-5 while Flagler is now 1-6. Flagler hosts Emory & Henry College on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
The Saints led 15-14 after the first quarter but the Cougars closed the second quarter on an 8-2 run to take a 30-26 lead into the half.
Sioux Falls opened the third quarter on a 21-7 run in route to the 17-point win.
Taylor Gardner added 10 points for the Saints.
Sharale McCormick and
Beka Benge each contributed eight points.
Sara Pedraza tallied four assists.
Olivia Gamoke led a balanced scoring attack for Sioux Falls with 13 points. Madison Birnbaum recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Tayah Leenderts and Brecli Honner each scored 12 points.
