YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. –
Jordan Berglin recorded a match-high 11 kills and added five digs in Flagler College's sweep (25-14, 25-21, 25-18) of Young Harris College in a Peach Belt Conference match Friday evening at The Harp Recreation & Commencement Center.
Flagler has won four matches in a row and is now 13-7 overall and 7-4 in the Peach Belt. Young Harris lost its 17
th match in a row and are now 3-23 overall and 0-12 in league play. The Saints head to Milledgeville to take on Georgia College on Saturday and Sunday to wrap up a seven-match road swing.
Berglin finished with a .348 hitting percentage as she only had three errors on 23 swings. Berglin had a pair of aces.
Molly Boyd added eight kills and hit .538.
Audrey Simmons hit .500 as she had seven kills with one error on 12 swings.
Kennedy Muff tallied 26 assists and added four digs, three aces and three kills.
Edie Lamoreaux collected a match-high 10 digs.
Cameron Fenner and Lamoreaux had three aces.
Alex Pierre, Lily Hidalgo and Chase Vaigneur each had five kills for the Mountain Lions. Alex Boydstone and Mollie Lawrence had 10 assists apiece.
The Saints used an 11-1 run in the first set after trailing 10-9. Berglin served up a pair of aces and an
Arianna Lopez kill completed the run. Boyd led Flagler with four kills in the set.
The second set featured 10 ties and three lead changes. Muff's kill helped spark a 3-0 spurt to break a 15-all tie and Flagler never trailed again. Boyd and Berglin had four kills apiece while Muff and Simmons each had three more. The Saints hit .423 and had 15 kills with four errors on 26 swings. Young Harris had eight kills on 16 errorless swings.
Flagler opened the third set by scoring the first four points. The Saints led by as many as nine and won the set 25-18. Berglin had six kills on 10 errorless swings for a .600 hitting percentage.
