AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Flagler College men's tennis team was selected No. 3 in the preseason Peach Belt Conference Coaches' Poll that was released this morning by conference officials.
Nikita Tatyanin was selected to the preseason all-conference team.
The Saints finished last year with a 7-11 overall record and a 4-3 mark in league play.
First-year head coach
Jonas Piibor returns four-of-six singles players, including Tatyanin.
Tatyanin earned first-team all-conference honors in singles after posting a 7-4 record at No. 1 and he went 5-1 against conference competition last year. The Barcelona, Spain native posted a 9-4 record in singles play in the fall, leading the team in wins.
The Saints open the season at home on Feb. 12 against No. 14 Auburn University at Montgomery. Flagler is playing a handful of exhibition matches at the Flagler Tennis Center, starting Sunday at 11 a.m. against Atlantis University.
