Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Jalen Barr’s 19 points leads Saints to victory Monday night

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Jalen Barr scored a game-high 19 points and added eight rebounds to go along with three steals in Flagler College's 67-53 triumph over the University of North Georgia in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Monday night at the UNG Convocation Center.

Flagler extended its winning streak to three games and improved to 13-3 overall and remains in first place in the Peach Belt with a 6-1 record. Flagler also swept the two-game series against North Georgia for the first time since the 2018-19 season. North Georgia had its four-game winning streak snapped and fell to 11-5 overall and 4-3 in league play.

"That was as focused as I have seen our team play," said head coach Chad Warner. "I think that is in direct proportion to the respect we have for North Georgia."

The Saints opened the game on a 10-0 run and never trailed in the game. Flagler led by as many as 25 in the first half before settling on a 35-16 lead at the break.

Flagler was hot from the field in the first half making 53.8 percent (14-26). North Georgia was limited to 29.2 percent (7-24).

Jaziec Lottie added 14 points and six rebounds while Derrick Ellis, Jr. and Kohl Roberts each contributed 11 points. Roberts tacked on six rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.

The Saints made all 12 of their free throws tonight. This is the first time in the NCAA Division II era that a Flagler team made all of its free throws in a game (with a minimum of 10 attempts).

Malik Hardy came off the bench to lead the Nighthawks with 14 points. Frank Champion added 12 points and four assists while Zach Brown chipped in with 10 points.

This Saturday (Jan. 22) will be a big one at Flagler Gymnasium. No. 12 (NABC Division II Top 25) Augusta University comes to town to face Flagler at 3:30 p.m.
