Men's soccer places four on all-conference teams

4/9/2021 2:00:00 PM

ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College's Matteo Costa, Peik Koskinen, Joran Osland, and Andrea Lubbia were all selected to the All-Peach Belt Conference second-team, according to a release this afternoon by conference officials.

The four all-conference players are the most selections from a Flagler men's soccer team since the 2015 club placed the same amount.

Costa, a junior midfielder, leads the team with six goals and 13 points. He leads the PBC in game-winning goals (3), is second in goals, and is third in points.

"Once Matteo found his rhythm," said head coach Chris Kranjc, "he was instrumental in providing some great goals for our team."

Koskinen, a senior midfielder, is tied for the team lead in assists with four. He is in eighth place in assists.

"Peik provided stability," said Kranjc, "but also worked to help support our forwards to provide assists and helps us in defensive situations."

Osland, a sophomore defender, is second on the team in points (8) and is tied for the team-lead in assists with four. He is seventh in the PBC in assists.

"Joran has a great balance to his game and proves why he is a threat in the attack from the wide areas," said Kranjc. "He had provided many critical assists and some goals from his left back position."

Lubbia, a junior goalkeeper, has a 0.99 goals-against average and has turned in two clean sheets this season. He is second in the PBC in GAA, save percentage (.750), shutouts, and is fifth in saves per match (3.00).

"Andrea was huge in the last game against Young Harris College and shows why he is one of the top goalkeepers in the conference," said Kranjc. "He has been a consistent performer all year."

Flagler hosts Francis Marion University in the PBC Tournament championship match on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Saints Field.
