MOBILE, Ala. – Flagler College overcame a slow start and shot a blistering 73.9 percent from the field in the second half in route to a 77-60 victory over Spring Hill College in a non-conference men's basketball game Friday night at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
Flagler (6-2) extended its winning streak to five games while Spring Hill (1-6) lost its second game in a row.
"I thought we played a really physical second half," said head coach
Chad Warner. "A lot of the guys made winning plays for us and that is encouraging. We have so much to improve upon, but we are seeing growth in a lot of areas."
The Saints shot just 38.7 percent in the first half. Flagler held a 15-point lead (24-9) midway through the opening half and took a 36-29 advantage into the break.
After a Jaden Gray layup closed the gap to four to start the second half, Flagler ripped off a 21-5 run over the next 6:10 to put the game away.
Jalen Barr scored six of his career-high 20 points in that spurt. Barr also added five rebounds and tied his career-high with five steals.
Jaizec Lottie scored 13 of his game-high 22 points in the second half. He completed his first double-double of the season with 10 points and added seven assists.
Curtis Lewis contributed 10 points and dished out four assists.
Beril Kabamba recorded a double-double for the Badgers with 18 points and 10 rebounds. David Daniels added 14 points.
Flagler will take a break for finals and return to the court on Dec. 11 when it travels south to face the University of Fort Lauderdale for a 4 p.m. tip time.
