Flagler gets off to fast start in rout of Fort Lauderdale

DAVIE, Fla. – Jaizec Lottie scored 21 of his game-high 29 points in the second half in Flagler College's 90-64 rout of the University of Fort Lauderdale in a men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at the David Posnack Jewish Community Center.

Flagler won its sixth game in a row and concluded the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 7-2 record. Fort Lauderdale dropped to 3-10.

The Saints scored the game's first 11 points and never looked back. Flagler held a 42-21 lead at the half and limited the Eagles to 27.6 percent shooting from the field.

Lottie made 10-of-16 from the field and sank all seven free throw attempts. He added five rebounds and four assists. Kohl Roberts came off the bench to contribute a season-best 15 points and eight rebounds while Jalen Barr added 12 points, five steals, and four rebounds. Spencer Bain tacked on a season-high 11 points. Chris Metzger, a Plantation, Florida native, grabbed seven rebounds as he played close to where he grew up.

Jongkor Unguec led UFTL with 18 points and six rebounds. Carl Bigord added 13 points and Benez Woodard tallied 10 more.

Flagler opens Peach Belt Conference play Dec. 17 against the University of North Georgia at 4 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
