AUGUSTA, Ga. — Max Lambertz has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
It marks the German midfielder's first PBC honor as a Saint and stems from this two-goal week that helped his team to an undefeated week. In both of Flagler's wins — a 4-3 victory over Barry University and a crucial 2-1 win over Clayton State University — Lambertz used a set-piece header to get the Saints on the board first.
Needing only 120 minutes combined, the 6-foot-2 junior made his presence known and helped Flagler (6-6, 4-4 PBC) win two straight with postseason implications on the line. The Saints will now welcome USC Aiken Wednesday for a 4 p.m. match before hitting the road for a clash with North Georgia Saturday at 1 p.m.
