ST. AUGUSTINE –
Aaron Anderson went 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs batted in, and he scored two runs as Flagler College coasted to a 7-1 win over Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday night at Drysdale Field.
Flagler extended its winning streak to five games and it improved to 21-17. Embry-Riddle dropped to 22-12.
Anderson's two-run blast to right field in the fourth inning staked the Saints to a 6-0 lead.
He got the Saints going in the first with an RBI single to right field, which scored
Dillon Reed. Anderson scored on a single by
Sean Lawlor. Lawlor went on to steal second base and scored on
Austin Davis' single.
Reed added an RBI double in the second.
The Saints trotted out nine different pitchers who combined to strikeout 11 Eagles.
Colt Mink (1-0) picked up the win after throwing a perfect sixth inning. He struck out one batter, got another to fly out, and the other to ground out.
Lawlor went 3-for-4 with a triple, one RBI, and he scored one run.
Elliott Schubert hit a single, walked twice, scored two runs, and stole a base.
Daniel Agramont (2-4) took the loss on the hill for Embry-Riddle. He tossed one-plus innings and allowed four runs on three hits.
Josh Reynolds had a pinch-hit RBI single in the eighth for the Eagles. Kyle Guttveg hit a double and scored the lone run.
Flagler opens a three-game Peach Belt Conference series on Friday against Georgia College at 6 p.m. at Drysdale Field.
