Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE – The first six innings of the game was a pitcher's duel, but
Steven DiPuglia hit a two-run double in the seventh to spark a three-run frame as Flagler College downed Valdosta State University 3-1 in a non-conference baseball game at Drysdale Field.
Flagler improved to 3-1 on the season while Valdosta State dropped to 2-3.
Evan Lowe led off the bottom of the seventh with a single to center off starter Logan Dubbe (0-1), who had retired 11 of the previous 12 hitters.
Sean Lawlor ripped a single down the right field line that was bobbled by the Blazer outfielder allowing each runner to take an extra base. DiPuglia then cleared the bases with his double, giving Flagler its first lead, 2-1. Colton Chupp came on in relief and allowed a sacrifice bunt and then
Ethan Crout's fly ball to right-center scored the insurance run.

Ethan Jones closed the door as he tossed two scoreless innings and allowed one hit. He struck out two batters.
Dillon Reed hit a double and a triple. Four more Flagler players had one hit.
Dubbe tossed six-plus innings and surrendered five hits and three earned runs. He walked two and fanned three.
Five Blazer hitters each collected on single.
Flagler will take on Wingate University tomorrow (Feb. 10) at a time to be determined. The other game played at Drysdale Field was suspended due to fog with the scored tied at 5-all between Wingate and Florida Tech. Those teams will resume their game at 11 a.m. and then Florida Tech will take on Valdosta State at the conclusion of that game. Flagler and Wingate will follow.
