NICEVILLE, Fla. – The Flagler College men's tennis team sent four players to compete in the qualifying draw of the USA F30 Futures, which concluded today at the Bluewater Bay Tennis Center.
Lukas Storck advanced to the third round where he faced Alvaro Fernandez Horta, who plays at Florida Atlantic University. Horta won today's match 6-4 and 7-5 to advance to the fourth round.
Storck opened the tournament with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Illya Filanchuk (University of Mobile) and then edged Spencer Gray 6-3, 7-6(6).
Rasmus Jonssson defeated Michal Malcek in the first round 6-2 and 6-1, but fell to Sergio Alvarez 7-5, 6-2 in the following round.
Felipe Carvalho defeated Omar Lopez Torres 2-6, 6-1, and 6-2 in the first round, but then lost to Elio Ribiero Lago in the second round 6-3, 6-3.
Flagler has one tune-up before the 2019 season officially opens as it hosts ASA College of Miami on Jan. 26 at the Flagler Tennis Center at 1 p.m.
