Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE – The No. 4 (ITA Division II) Armstrong State University, the defending NCAA Division II national champions, spoiled Flagler College's "Senior Day" with a 7-2 win in a Peach Belt Conference women's tennis match Wednesday afternoon at the Flagler Tennis Center.

Armstrong State improved to 22-1 overall and 11-0 in the Peach Belt. Flagler fell to 16-5 overall and 8-2 in conference play.

Prior to the match, Flagler honored its two seniors: Thaisa Pereira and Kelly Stewart.

Armstrong won all three doubles matches, but Flagler was able to win a pair of singles matches. Lizanne Jinkertz upset No. 4-ranked Nicole Fossa Huergo 6-4 and 6-3 while Laura Kelly rolled past Alice Patch 6-2 and 6-2. Jinkertz is undefeated (8-0) at No. 2 singles this season.

Flagler wraps up regular season play with a pair of neutral site matches at Florence, South Carolina. The Saints will make up two matches that were rained out earlier this season starting with Saturday's (April 16) contest against Young Harris College at 1 p.m.

Also, the women debuted at No. 3 in the first NCAA Division II regional ranking which was released this afternoon. The Saints were 14-3 both overall and within Southeast Region play and are ranked behind Armstrong and Columbus State University. Flagler has a .656 strength of schedule rating which is the third-toughest schedule in the region.
