Box Score DAYTONA BEACH – No. 30 (ITA Division II) Flagler College finally got its season underway, albeit having to travel to play No. 2 (ITA NAIA) Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University instead of hosting like it was supposed to before inclement weather postponed the match. The Saints gave the Eagles everything they wanted, but came up short 6-3 in a non-conference women's tennis match Thursday afternoon at the Crotty Tennis Complex.

Embry-Riddle improved to 2-0.

Barbora Sebkova and Thaisa Pereira teamed to beat Kathryn Bock and Paula Ortiz Couder 8-6 at No. 2 doubles.

Esther Santiago defeated the No. 25 ranked player in the NAIA, Anna Gotz 2-6, 6-3 and 7-5 while Pereira took down Couder 7-5, 4-6, 10-7.

Flagler hosts No. 26 Georgia College in the Peach Belt Conference opener for both teams on Saturday (Feb. 7) at 11 a.m. at the Flagler Tennis Center.
