Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LAKELAND – Flagler College faced the two best teams, Lewis University and Florida Southern College, in the FSC/Terrace Hotel Classic Saturday at the Jenkins Field House. Unfortunately for the Saints, they came on the short end, losing both in three sets.

Flagler split its four matches in Lakeland this weekend. Lewis went 3-1 and Florida Southern, the host school, posted a 3-0 record.

For the day, Sara Davis led Flagler with 13 kills. Genel Sturgeon and Taja Valmyr each recorded 12 kills. Sturgeon also led with 16 digs in the two matches while Amelia Morgan tallied 39 assists and 13 digs.

"Lewis was a really good team as was Florida Southern," said Flagler head coach Matt Affolder. "We got some good momentum in the middle part of the sets {against Lewis}. Ashley Cheewah had a pretty solid match and Taja did some nice things offensively.

"Sara played a solid match against Florida Southern," added Affolder. "She did some positive things defensively."
