ST. AUGUSTINE – Jonny Cosgrove tallied two goals and Thomas Gallitz notched a pair of assists to help lead Flagler College to a 4-0 triumph over Anderson University in a non-conference men's soccer match Saturday night at Saints Field.

Flagler improved to 1-0-1 on the season while Anderson fell to 0-2-0. This was the first win in the series against the Trojans. Flagler came in 0-1-2 all-time against Anderson.

Cosgrove got things started for the Saints with his goal in the 13^th minute. Eoin Hyland lobbed a pass from the Flagler half of the midfield and found Cosgrove open on the left side of the 18-yard box. Cosgrove quickly gathered the ball from about 12 yards out and buried a shot inside the left post to give Flagler the early lead.

That would be all of the scoring in the first half.

Simeon Wickli scored his first goal of the season when he knocked in Gallitz' cross in the 49^th minute. Gallitz wasn't finished. In the 64^th minute, he sent a cross into the box where Cosgrove headed the ball in to give Flagler a 3-0 lead.

Caleb Austin scored the final goal when his free kick from around 30 yards out was too hard to handle for the Anderson keeper as the ball squirted through his hands and into the goal.

Anderson had taken a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute when a sliding Lars Zimmerman scored off of a through ball from Andre Carle, but was whistled for being offside denying the tally.

Lex Craggs recorded three saves and earned his first shutout for Flagler. Devon Ashby collected one save for the Trojans.

Flagler out-shot Anderson 11-10, but the Trojans held the edge in corner kicks, 6-5. A total of 34 fouls were logged and five cards were issued.

Flagler hosts No. 5 (NSCAA/Continental Tire Division II Ranking) Rollins College on Tuesday (Sept. 9) at 7 p.m. at Saints Field.
