Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College recorded 13 total team blocks and were led by Ashley Cheewah's seven total blocks in  a 3-1 (25-23, 25-18, 16-25, 25-20) win over Columbus State University in a Peach Belt Conference women's volleyball match Saturday afternoon at Flagler Gymnasium.

Flagler snapped its three-match losing streak in the process and improved to 7-8 overall and evened its Peach Belt record at 3-3. Columbus State suffered its fourth consecutive loss and dropped to 3-8 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

Genel Sturgeon led a balanced offensive attack with 10 kills and added seven digs. Sara Davis added nine kills, hit .316 and recorded five total blocks. Megan Hooks came off the bench to provide eight kills, hit .467 and recorded five total blocks. Both Davis and Hooks also served up three aces. Caitlyn Kovach paced the defense with 12 digs while Amelia Morgan tallied 36 assists.

The Saints hit a solid .216 as a team with 41 kills and 17 errors on 111 swings. Flagler hit .320 in the first set, which saw 10 ties and three lead changes.

Katie Poole recorded a match-high 19 kills and added 10 digs to complete the double-double for Columbus State. Andrea Skipor came in off the bench and added 11 kills. Caytlin Merritt led the Lady Cougar defense with a match-high 15 digs while Ivana Kazic tallied a match-high 47 assists.

Next up for Flagler will be No. 22 (AVCA Division II Top 25) Armstrong State University on Friday (Oct. 3) in the "Battle of the Peach" at 7 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
