Box Score FLORENCE, S.C. – Taja Valmyr supplied a team-high 11 kills off of the bench but it wasn't enough as Flagler College fell to Francis Marion University 3-1 (25-27, 25-19, 25-16, 25-18) in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Sunday afternoon at the Smith University Center.

Francis Marion snapped a seven-match losing streak and improved to 3-7 overall and evened its Peach Belt record at 1-1. Flagler lost its second match in a row and dropped to 6-7 overall and its conference record is an even 2-2.

Megan Hooks added eight kills, nine digs and two total blocks for the Saints. Ashley Lechleidner-Rodriguez collected a team-high 16 digs while Amelia Morgan tallied 31 assists and added nine digs. Sara Davis recorded seven total blocks. Genel Sturgeon and Ashley Cheewah added four and three block assists, respectively.

Flagler was held to a .109 hitting percentage.

Alexzandra Reed and Carlie Smith both posted double-doubles for the Patriots. Reed finished with a match-high 14 kills and added 12 digs. Smith contributed 11 kills and 10 digs. She hit .346 for the match with two errors on 26 swings. Caroline Boone chipped in with 13 kills. Shelby Jones added nine kills, hit .350 and recorded four total blocks. Jessica Amador paced the defense with 19 digs and Sloane Shank registered 49 assists.

The Patriots served up 13 aces.

Flagler returns home for the first time in 19 days on Friday (Sept. 26) when it hosts the University of Montevallo at 7 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
