Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Sara Davis recorded a season-high 20 kills and hit .457 to help lead Flagler College to a hard-fought 3-2 (25-17, 23-25, 25-21, 15-25, 15-13) win over Georgia College in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Friday night at the Centennial Center.

Flagler improved to 6-5 overall and 2-0 in the Peach Belt. Georgia College dropped its second match in a row, as well as its home opener, and fell to 4-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

"We gutted this one out tonight," said Flagler head coach Matt Affolder. "We made plays when we had to."

Flagler slipped behind Georgia College 12-11 in the fifth set after an attack error. After a Saints timeout, they evened the match at 12-all after a service error. Flagler took a 13-12 lead after an attack error by the Bobcats which forced a timeout by Georgia College. A Roper kill evened the set at 13-all, but Davis finished the match with consecutive kills.

"Our middles (Ashley Cheewah and Davis) were really, really good tonight," said Affolder. "Ashley brought it tonight and was very effective and took advantage of some things we saw in our scouting. Sara made some good runs and had a career night. Aslhey Lechleidner-Rodriguez had a fantastic night at libero."

Davis only had four errors on 35 swings to pace the Saints attack. She nearly tied a school record as she served up six aces. Cheewah added 11 kills, hit .333 and added six block assists. Genel Sturgeon just missed a double-double with nine kills and 20 digs while Ashley Lechleidner-Rodriguez collected a match-high 26 digs. Amelia Morgan tallied a season-best 50 assists and added nine digs.

The Saints hit .324 and .316 in the first and third sets before hitting .261 in the fifth and deciding set.
