Box Score MORROW, Ga. – Sean Morris scored an unassisted goal in the 55
th minute as Clayton State University upset No. 16 (NSCAA/Continental Tire Division II Top 25) Flagler College 1-0 in a Peach Belt Conference men's soccer game Friday night at Laker Field.
Clayton State improved to 3-1-1 overall and won its Peach Belt opener. The Lakers are 3-0 at home. Flagler suffered its first set-back of the season and dropped to 3-1-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Flagler was aggressive early with five shots, two of which were on frame, and had four corner kicks in the first 12 minutes of the match.
The Saints could not get a ball by Laker keeper Nate Punter who tallied six saves to record his second shutout.
Six different Saints recorded shots on goal.
Lex Craggs tallied two saves for the Saints.
Both teams took 10 shots each and both took seven corner kicks. Clayton State was whistled for 15 fouls while Flagler committed seven infractions.
Flagler heads north to face No. 3 Limestone College tomorrow (Sept. 20) at 7 p.m.
