Box Score MARS HILL, N.C. – Kevin Keenan's goal in the 86th minute lifted No. 10 (NSCAA/Continental Tire Division II Top 25) Flagler College to a 3-2 season-opening win over Mars Hill University Friday night at Meares Stadium.

The victory marks the fourth consecutive season the Saints have won its lid lifter. Flagler also improves to 2-0 all-time against Mars Hill, both wins coming on the road. 

Keenan broke the 2-all tie when he knocked in a loosed ball in front of the Lions goal.

Jonny Cosgrove got Flagler on the board first when he scored off of Marco Warren's assist in the 39th minute.

Both teams went into the locker rooms with the score remaining 1-0 in favor of the Saints.

Alex Mullen tallied an equalizer just 20 second into the start of the second half.

Caleb Austin found the back of the net in the 58th minute as he tucked a shot into the top corner to give the lead back to Flagler, 2-1.

The lead was short-lived as Tom Allison headed in a pass from Jack Donaldson to knot the game up 2-all in the 59th minute.

Camp Bissell tallied six saves for the Saints while Oliver Pannell made four stops for the Lions.

Flagler out-shot Mars Hill 17-10 and held an 8-5 edge in corner kicks. The Lions were whistled for seven fouls while the Saints were caught just five times.

Flagler will head to Gaffney, S.C., to take on Limestone College on Sunday (Sept. 8) at 2 p.m.
