Abby Meyers recorded a match-high 13 kills to help power Flagler College to a 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 17-25, 25-15) win over GRU Augusta in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Sunday afternoon at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Flagler won its third-match in a row to improve to 10-5 overall and 6-2 in the Peach Belt. The Saints won three of the fourth matches they played this weekend. GRU Augusta lost its fifth consecutive match and dropped to 1-11 overall and 0-6 in league play. The Saints sweep the season series with the Jaguars.
Meyers hit .400 with only three errors on 25 swings and she added six block assists.
Ashley Cheewah added eight kills and hit .375 with two errors in 16 swings. She added four block assists to her line.
Emilee Taylor added seven kills and 11 digs.
Caitlyn Kovach recorded her third 30+ digs match, and second of the weekend, with a match-high 32 digs.
Amelia Morgan tallied 18 assists and served up three aces for the Saints.
Kristen Koch led the Jaguars with 12 kills and seven digs. Kailla Baptiste added nine kills while Paige Tuttle tacked on eight more. Maggie Darling paced the defense with 26 digs while Chandler Mass tallied 31 assists and eight digs.
Flagler is in the middle of its seven-match road trip. The Saints head north on Wednesday (Oct. 2) to face PBC-rival Armstrong Atlantic State University at 7 p.m. in Savannah, Ga.
