Marco Warren scored a goal and added an assist as Flagler College and Clayton State University play to a 2-2 double-overtime draw in a Peach Belt Conference men's soccer match Saturday night at Saints Field.
Flagler is now 2-2-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the Peach Belt. Clayton State is 3-1-2 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play.
Matt Lowrie of Clayton scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute when he received a pass from Alhagi Toure in the middle of the penalty box and then deposited the ball into the back of the net.
After trailing 1-0 at the half, the Saints got an equalizer from Warren in the 58th minute when he took a pass from
Zach Shanahan from midfield and had a short dribble through the Laker defense before taking the shot.
Camp Bissell's kick to midfield set up the pay.
Triston Hall gave the Saints a 2-1 lead after taking a pass from Warren in the 62nd minute. Warren had a run down the left sideline and found an open Hall at the top of the box. The two were teammates at Montverde Academy in Florida.
Nikola Gazibara scored the first goal of the game for Clayton State when he leapt and headed in Nomis Cisic's corner kick in the 30th minute.
Flagler out-shot Clayton State 18-15, including a 10-3 advantage in the second half. The Lakers held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
Flagler will travel to Lakeland to face Florida Southern College on Tuesday (Sept. 24) at 7:30 p.m.
