Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CLEARWATER – No. 13 (NFCA/Division II Top 25) Flagler College used a four-run fourth inning to defeat Lynn University 6-2 and followed that with a two-run rally in the fifth inning to earn a 2-1 win over No. 19 Barry University to open the Eckerd Spring Invitational Friday at Eddie C. Moore Park.

Flagler remains undefeated at 4-0 while Lynn fell to 2-2 and Barry suffered its first loss and is 2-1.

In the opener, Cristina Caravano drove in Kirstie Flink with a single in the fifth to break a 2-all tie. Caravano would later score on a wild pitch and then Christen Moon drove in two more runs to provide insurance.

Tinsley Smith (1-0) earned her first win in the circle for the Saints. She went the distance and scattered seven hits and allowed one earned run. Smith retired the first seven batters she faced.

Of the 11 Flagler hits, only one went for extra bases. Darcey Cochran singled twice and scored a run. Moon singled twice, collected two runs batted in and scored a run. Caravano and Marissa Blake combined to go 4-for-6 with two RBI and two runs scored. Blake had the only extra-base hit with a double.

Kasey Murray (2-2) surrendered 11 hits in six innings of work. She allowed six runs and fanned four.

Lauren Bessent belted a one-out solo home run to tie the game and with two outs, Whitney Little reached on a single back to the pitcher. She stole second and Moon knocked her in with a base hit to right field.
