Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE – Williesha Spencer scored a game-high 25 points and dished out six assists as Flagler College rolled to a 73-63 win over Armstrong Atlantic State University in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Thursday night at Flagler Gymnasium.

Flagler evened its overall record at 9-9 and improved to 7-6 in the Peach Belt. The nine wins by Flagler is the most in a season for the program since posting 15 in the 2007-08 campaign. Armstrong dropped its fourth consecutive game and fell to 7-12 overall and 2-10 in conference play.

Spencer scored 21 of her 25 points in the second half and finished the game with a season-high 11 field goals. Treva Mason recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds while Shelbi Lindsey notched her third double-double of the season with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Saints forced 22 Pirate turnovers and cashed them in for 23 points. Flagler also made 13-of-its-17 free throws.

Flagler broke open a 40-all game midway in the second half with an 11-1 run over a 2:45 span and never looked back. Spencer sparked the rally with a driving layup and she finished the run with a steal and a layup at the other end with 10:11 remaining. Flagler's lead would swell to as many as 16 in the second half before settling on the final 10-point margin.

Both teams struggled shooting the ball in early stages of the game. Flagler was 1-for-11 from the field and Armstrong was 1-for-7 before the first media timeout. The Pirates committed five turnovers and the Saints had three miscues in that span. The Saints held a 32-26 lead at the half.

Flagler hosts UNC Pembroke on Saturday (Feb. 9) at 1:30 p.m. Proceeds of the game will go towards finding a cure for breast cancer.
