Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE – Marco Warren supplied a pair of second half goals to help lift Flagler College to a 3-1 win over the University of Montevallo in a Peach Belt Conference men's soccer match Saturday night at Saints Field.

Flagler won its first home match of the season and won its fourth match in a row to improve to 6-3-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the Peach Belt. Montevallo dropped its third match in its last four and fell to 4-7-0 overall and 2-4-0 in conference play.

Warren scored his first goal just a little over one minute into the second half when he blasted a shot from about 25 yards out to give the Saints a 2-1 lead. He added another goal in the 87th minute when he took Zach Shanahan's pass into the box and tucked a shot into the upper right corner for an insurance goal.

The last goal for the Saints came with a man advantage as Montevallo's Gary O'Neill was booked for his second yellow card of the match after Warren's first goal back in the 47th minute.

The Falcons grabbed an early 1-0 lead when Jeffrey Hessenberger took a pass from Bruno Mbamala and broke away down the left side of the offensive third for the Falcons. He drew Flagler keeper Camp Bissell out a couple of steps and slipped one by to his left for the goal in the 10th minute.

The Saints drew even after Warren had directed a pass into four Falcon defenders in the box. The ball caromed around the defenders and trickled in the goal for an own goal.

Bissell, the PBC Goalkeeper of the Week, tallied five saves for the Saints. Brendan Ledgeway recorded six saves for the Falcons.

Flagler out-shot Montevallo 18-11 and held a 9-6 advantage in shots on goal. The Saints also held an advantage in corner kicks, 7-6. Montevallo was whistled for 24 fouls and Flagler was tagged 19 times.

Flagler hosts No. 1-ranked (NAIA) Lindsey Wilson College on Wednesday (Oct. 16) at 7 p.m. at Saints Field.
