SAVANNAH, Ga. – Dianna Craine led No. 16 (AVCA Division II) Flagler College with 16 kills and added 10 digs to complete the double-double in a 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-23) sweep of Catawba College in the season opener for both teams Friday night at the Pirate Season Opener Tournament at Alumni Arena.

Flagler wraps up tournament play tomorrow (Sept. 1) against Lenoir-Rhyne University at 11 a.m. and Tusculum College at 2 p.m.

The Saints hit .305 as a team and recorded 8.5 team total blocks.

Emilee Taylor and Sophie Meyer each recorded eight kills while Abby Meyers added seven. Meyers also supplied seven total blocks. Rachel Stacy chipped in with six kills. Casey Gnann paced the defense with 23 digs while Amelia Morgan made her collegiate debut and recorded a double-double with 47 assists and 10 digs.

Tonight's win also marked the first victory for new head coach Brian Heffernan who takes the reigns of the three-time Peach Belt Conference champions.
