ST. AUGUSTINE – No. 7 (

In the second game, Ethan Bader (9-3) tossed a complete game four-hit shutout as he struck out 11 Saints. He retired the first 12 batters he faced and only allowed two base runners to reach scoring position.
The Pirates received all of the offense they would need in the third inning. After a Clayton Miller lead-off single and a Cody Powell walk, Mike Barnhill moved the runners up a base on a grounder to second base. Casey Maloney flied out to center field and Miller scored the first run of the game.
Armstrong plated one more in the fifth as a run scored on a double play.
Flagler threatened in the fifth after
Charlie Stewart (Port St. Lucie, Fla., Lincoln Park Academy) led off with a double and Fudala singled, but they were stranded on the corners.
Miller had half of Armstrong's hits with a pair of singles and he scored a run.
Jonathan Armold (Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Pine Crest School) (5-5) was the hard-luck loser on the mound for Flagler. He tossed 7.2 innings, allowed just three hits and two runs. Armold fanned nine batters. He retired the first six batters he faced.
Fudala singled twice.
Flagler will now break for exams and return to action on Saturday (Apr. 21) at Lander University for a 7 p.m. game.
