ST. AUGUSTINE – Chandler Hall (6-2) tossed a complete game and scattered four hits and fanned six batters to lead No. 7 (Collegiate Baseball Division II Top 30) Armstrong Atlantic State University to a 4-1 win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference baseball game Friday (apr. 13) night at Drysdale Field.
Armstrong extended its winning streak to eight games and improved to 29-9 overall and 14-8 in the Peach Belt. Flagler fell to 23-17 overall and 10-12 in conference play.
The game's winning run was scored in the third inning after Zach Taylor hit a one-out double down the right field line and he took third on a ground out. R.J. Dennard reached first on a throwing error by Saints shortstop
Devon Hellett and Taylor scored to give the Pirates a 2-0 lead.
Armstrong added two more insurance runs in the seventh. Drew Walker hit an RBI single and Frederick scampered to third. That brought in reliever
Tyler Ward who attempted a pick off at first, but the ball got away from first baseman
John Sgromolo and Frederick scored.
Flagler scored its lone run in the bottom of the seventh when Hellett hit a sacrifice fly to plate
Cade Smith.
Taylor singled, doubled and scored two runs for the Pirates. Walker singled, doubled and drove in a run.
Hall retired 10 batters on fly outs and 10 more on ground outs.
Danny Brown (3-2) tossed six innings and allowed five hits and one earned run. He struck out three batters.

Will Percy, Hellett and Smith each singled.
The same two teams meet at 2 p.m. in a doubleheader.
