ST. AUGUSTINE – First baseman Breezy Collings (Orange City, Fla., Brevard CC) went 5-for-6 with a double and a home run to help lead Flagler College to a non-conference doubleheader sweep of Palm Beach Atlantic University, 6-2 and 1-0, Wednesday evening at Flagler Field.

Flagler improved to 20-7 overall this season and Palm Beach Atlantic fell to 17-12.

In the opener, Hayley Craven's (St. Johns, Fla., Bartram Trail HS) solo home run in the fourth inning proved to be the difference in Flagler's 6-2 win.

Collings got things started for the Saints with an RBI single in the first inning. Alona Personius (Lake Stevens, Wash., Florida State College-Jacksonville) added to the tally with a solo home run in the third.

PBA countered with three runs of its won in the top of the fifth. Miranda Welch drove in Erica Walters with a sacrifice fly, and then Lisa Santos drove in Kimberly Traxler and the Sailfish trailed by a run, 3-2.

Flagler answered in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run uprising. Lauren Bessent (Jacksonville, Fla., Trinity Christian Academy) hit an RBI double and Tori Jolley (Keystone Heights, Fla., Keystone Heights HS) followed with a two-run single.

Kalyn Loverich (St. Johns, Fla., Bartram Trail HS) (9-4) went the distance for the Saints. She scattered five hits, allowed two runs and fanned six.

Collings was a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and another driven in. Personius went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored while Craven went 2-for-4 with a home run.

Mary Pippin (9-7) also tossed a complete game and took the loss. She allowed 10 hits and all six runs.

Walters hit a double for PBA.

In the second game, Collings provided the only offense in a pitcher's duel with a solo home run with two outs in the sixth inning.

Katie Enright (Oakland, N.J., Indian Hills HS) (4-2) went the distance in the circle for Flagler. She tossed a four-hit shutout and struck out seven. Enright retired the last 12 of 16 batters she faced.

Lauren Roudabush (Marengo, Ill., Marengo HS) collected a pair of singles while Collings added a single to her solo home run.

Lauren Bubeck (5-4) went the distance for the Sailfish. She surrendered five hits and one run.

Traxler singled twice.

Flagler hosts Limestone College on Friday (Mar. 9) at 5 p.m. at Flagler Field.
