MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Emilee Taylor tied her career-high with 22 kills and hit a blistering .488 to help lead Flagler College to a 3-1 (17-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-15) win over the University of Montevallo in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at BankTrust Arena.

Flagler improved to 18-8 overall and 10-1 in the Peach Belt. Montevallo dropped to 13-15 overall and 4-8 in league play.

Taylor only had one error on 43 swings and recorded four block assists. Dianna Craine added nine kills while Rachel Stacy chipped in with eight kills and four total blocks. Casey Gnann collected 25 digs while Amelia Morgan notched her sixth double-double of the season, and second in a row, with 46 assists and 11 digs.

Michelle Walker led the Falcons with 13 kills while Manyi Ati added 12 more. Rebekah Phelps came off of the bench to record 11 kills and hit .474. Kaleigh Harvey collected 25 digs while Briana Marquez tallied 39 assists to go along with eight digs.

In the opening set, Montevallo used a 9-3 run to erase a 6-all tie en route to a 25-17 win. Ati had three kills and a block in the run. The Falcons hit .484 and held the Saints to a .143 percentage.

The second set saw 12 ties and four lead changes. A kill by Ati knotted the score at 19-all, but it was all Saints the rest of the way. A kill by Stacy followed by two consecutive aces helped Flagler close the set on a 6-0 run and a 25-19 win.

The Saints never trailed in the third set and used an 8-2 run to pull away from the Falcons. Montevallo was held to a .095 hitting percentage with 11 kills and seven errors on 42 swings.

Flagler opened the fourth set on an 8-1 run and never looked back. The Saints hit .556 in the set with 15 kills on 27 errorless swings.

Flagler visits Armstrong Atlantic State University on Wednesday (Nov. 7) at 7 p.m., in a battle of first-place teams. Both teams are 10-1 in league play with the final week of the regular season coming up.
