COLUMBUS, Ga. – Dominique Gilbert scored a game-high 20 points and added nine rebounds and three blocked shots to help lead Columbus State University to an 83-48 win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Saturday afternoon at the Lumpkin Center.

Columbus State own its second game in a row and its fourth in its last five games to improve to 9-6 overall and 4-2 in the Peach Belt. Flagler suffered its second consecutive loss and fell to 2-12 overall and 1-7 in conference play.

Gilbert made 10-of-14 from the field to pace the Lady Cougars. Lauren Grisham came off the bench to tally 15 points and grab seven rebounds. Chatil Bradford tacked on 13 points, also in a reserve role. Carrie Washington grabbed eight rebounds.

Columbus State shot 51.3% (20-39) in the first half which allowed the Lady Cougars to post a 21-point lead (44-23) at the break. Columbus State out-rebounded Flagler 51-37 in the game. The Lady Cougars grabbed 18 offensive rebounds which led to 18 points. They out-scored the Saints 34-14 in the paint.

Charlsea Owen (St. Augustine, Fla., Pedro Menendez HS) scored a team-high 11 points. Treva Mason (Orlando, Fla., West Orange HS) corralled six rebounds. Shelbi Lindsey (Apopka, Fla., Lake Mary HS) came off the bench to add seven points, four rebounds and three steals.

After Owen opened the game with a 15-foot jumper, the Lady Cougars reeled off the next 12 points over the next 2:06 to seize control of the game. Columbus state made six of its seven shots in the run while Flagler went 0-for-2 with four turnovers.

Flagler will wrap up its two-game road swing on Monday (Jan. 16) at Georgia Southwestern State University at 1:30 p.m. in Americus.
