AIKEN, S.C. – It was Crystal Niederriter (Merritt Island, Fla., Merritt Island HS) leading the Flagler College offensive attack again on Saturday at the USC Aiken Invitational. She racked up 32 kills, hit .491 and added a team-leading eight blocks as the Saints split two matches. Flagler lost to Wheeling Jesuit University 3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 23-25, 25-23) but bounced back and defeated Anderson University 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-21, 25-18) to end the tournament 3-1.

Flagler's overall record stands at 6-2.

Rachel Stacy (Orlando, Fla., Timber Creek HS) recorded 23 kills and seven bocks while Emilee Taylor (Temple Terrace, Fla., Armwood HS) added 22 kills and 36 digs. Dianna Craine (Oshawa, Ontario, University of Tulsa) finished the day with 21 kills and 26 digs and earned All-Tournament honors. Olivia Snipes (Easley, S.C., Easley HS) registered 105 assists.

In the opener, Niederriter recorded 15 kills and hit .520 to pace the Saints. She only had two errors on 25 swings. Stacy added 12 kills and four total blocks. Casey Gnann (Boca Raton, Fla., Spanish River HS) led the defense with 27 digs and Snipes tallied 46 assists and added 10 digs to complete the double-double. Taylor chipped in with 17 digs.

Against Anderson, Niederriter led the way with 17 kills and hit .467. She had just three errors on 30 swing and added four block assists. Taylor recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 19 digs. Snipes chipped in with a double-double of 59 assists and 12 digs. Gnann led the defense with 26 digs. Craine added a double-double of her own with 12 kills and 14 digs.

Joy Hiller led the Trojans with 14 kills. Kalie Endres collected 16 digs and Meghan Cautero tallied 24 assists.

Flagler will travel to Savannah to participate in the AASU Pirate Volleyball Classic Friday-Saturday (Sept. 16-17). Flagler will open with Rollins College on Friday at 7 p.m. The Saints will face the University of North Alabama and Valdosta State University on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
